My Experiences

In 2009 I left my fourth year at The University of Nevada, Reno to pursue a completely different career path. I decided I was going to art school and received my BS in Graphic Design three years later in 2012. Since then I haven't looked back.

I am currently a UX/UI designer for StockTwits.

I've had experience working as an Apparel Designer creating graphics for various companies who were MMA sponsors for various fighters. I've also had experience as Marketing Manager for an affiliate marketing company called Recess Networks where I created various landing pages & web banners for A/B testing and conversion. I had the great opportunity to work with YB Publishing as a Visual Designer to create a Facebook Game Application as well as creating a whole new UX & UI design for their yearly update on their CMS platform.

If you want a more formal resume, you can grab it here.

New StockTwits Sign-Up Page

New StockTwits Sign-Up Page

This is the current re-design I've done for StockTwits. The main goal was to increase user sign-ups. Since our launch of the new sign-up page in January of 2014, each week we increase sign up rates of about 3% (during weekdays its about 500-700 new sign ups a day) Also our daily active user retention increases around 3% each week.

Our plan of action was to make the site simple, modern, and the sign-up flow easy to navigate and reducing as many user errors as possible.

Before and After

Preliminary sketches/concepts.

Sign Up Flow. 1, 2, Done (signed-up)

Error Use Cases

We guide the user in a very quick, easy, stream line process to help correct their mistakes quickly. Making our sign up easy, fast, and not frustrating.

iOS7 YouTube Mobile App Redesign

YouTube Mobile App

I created a redesign concept for the YouTube App on the new iOS7. I wanted to put more emphasis on the chosen video thumbnail itself so that is was more visually pleasing, inviting, and less on tab bars under it. I also reworked some of the symbols to make the actions more apparent. For example, sharing. A quick video showing the tap gestures is below

Encourage.me

Encourage.me

Encourage.me is an extension of a status update/tweet. A social media concept based around getting rid of "passive-aggressiveness" on status updates/tweets allowing users a place where it's O.K. to tell the world you're having a bad (or a good) day. Help express and really convey the mood you're in with a selection of beautiful photography. We are all visual people, aren't we?

I wanted to show what the actual posting panel would look like. Choose your photo, tell us how you're feeling, and post it. Click the nav arrows to scan through friends and see how they're feeling. Give encouragement. I also made a video below to help convey interactions with picture selecting and skimming through other friends' post.

Appseed Design Test

Appseed is a mobile application that lets you rapidly create working prototypes on your mobile phone of your sketches/wireframes. I had the opportunity to partake in a design test for a local agency here in San Diego. The objective was to create a 1-page site for an audience of UX/UI designers as well as to capture email address to let users know when the application was ready to be released.

I focused on creating a clean and simple design focusing on the applications features as well as following the current layout trends (extended e-mail inputs, circular image layouts, bold hero display).

Spotify Mobile App Redesign

Spotify Mobile App

I created a redesign concept for the Spotify App. I wanted to even out the options panel and incorporate their vibrant green when the user performs a selection action. I went with a more lighter color scheme to emphasize the negative space to give it a minimalist feel. I also reworked the player showcasing the other control options (sharing, shuffle, repeat) to reduce the extra click a user performs to access these options.
